How Many Driving Lessons Will I Need?

When you're learning to drive, nothing should be based on guesswork.
Neither should the number of lessons you'll need.
The truth is...
I don't know yet.
I haven't seen you drive.
Most of my learners who start from scratch are ready somewhere between 20 and 30 hours of lessons.
Some need less.
Some need more.
That's why I don't give people a number before I've even seen them drive.
The DVSA says the average learner needs around 45 hours of professional lessons and 22 hours of private practice before passing their driving test.
The important word there is average.
Some people need fewer lessons.
Some need more.
Neither is right or wrong.
I don't teach to a number of hours.
I teach until you're ready.
If you can practise between lessons, do it.
Even an hour a week can make a massive difference. Every lesson builds on what you've already learnt instead of spending time getting back to where you finished the week before.
